World Chess Hall of Fame: Sip, Sketch & Socialize: Lettermaking & Limonada with Graphic Designer, Kelcey Towell

Wednesday, August 31, 2016 | Doors Open 6:00 PM | Event at 6:30 PM | $5

Create your own monogram or logo with graphic designer, Kelcey Towell. Towell is the creator of LetterMaker, a stencil designed to allow users to construct custom lettering. LetterMaker breaks letters into their most basic building blocks of vertical and horizontal strokes, diagonals, and curves. Invent your own letterforms and apply the unique designs to cards and stationery. We’ll sip limonada, explore typefaces, and brainstorm new applications.

In early childhood Miss Towell was diagnosed with a severe allergy to Comic Sans. She turned this into a strength and became a mercenary in the battle against mediocre branding, gently guiding clients away from amateur font choices.Throughout her career she has won several industry awards and been featured in publications like Fast Co., Communication Arts, and “Type on Screen”

$5 at the Door | Free for World Chess Hall of Fame members. No experience necessary.
