Village Aglow: A Fundraiser for STL Village

5:30 TO 8:30 PM

"On October 15, 2015, STL Village will present its debut fundraising event, "Village Aglow!" This event will be held in the wonderful, new state of the art facility of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The theme of the event is "lighting the way to aging better together" and will feature a showcase of budding young artists from the metropolitan area.

Proceeds from this event will support the operations of STL Village in its work of assisting seniors who desire to age in community in a safe and socially connected manner. STL Village is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community of seniors. In order to accomplish this goal, we have established the Gloria Gordon Membership Plus (M+) Fund that provides subsidized memberships for low-income seniors. Funds from this event will also help to sustain our subsidized membership program."

Sip, Sketch and Socialize: Drawing with Tom Huck

Thursday, October 15 from 6:30-8:00 PM

Inspired by the concept of chess as a battle, participants will create their own “narratives of opposition"---drawings exploring opposites, conflicts, and stories real and imagined.

$5 at the Door | Free for World Chess Hall of Fame members. No drawing experience necessary. For more information please email:"

Set in the vibrant and cosmopolitan Central West End — with its backdrop of tree-lined streets and stately turn-of-the-century mansions — the annual Halloween in the CWE is THE can’t-miss celebration of the season.

Festivities kick off with fun daytime activities for the whole family. Then, as the sun sets, the party continues with an adults-only bash and costume contest, known for its elaborate, complex and outrageous costumes.
